RATING: GREAT BUT NEED IMPROVMENT!
After the eviction of VLC in the appstore, the race to create a similar app began. You can find a number of third party video players promising to play video formats not supported by iPad's native video player in the Appstore. But only AVPlayer HD continues to be on top of the Appstore's Entertainment App category because it delivers all its promises to play various video formats and its actually better than the suspended VLC Player.
You don't have to go through the pain of converting videos to mp4 anymore. Directly transfer any video format into the AVPlayer HD folder in iTunes and your good to go! Plus, this video player gives you the option to watch the video with color effects! Wireless transfer, usb transfer, TV Out, subtitle, in-app orientation lock, tap gestures and folder creation with option for password are just some of the notable feature of this great video player for iPad.
The App is not free. Costs $2.99 as of this moment but is definitely a great buy. App also available for iPhone.
